Super Saturday is Coming!!!

Ladies! It's almost that time again! We look forward to the fall each year because of Super Saturday (as well as cooler temperatures!). This year's big day is September 20th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stake Center.

We've got some great projects lined up for you this year at affordable prices so you can get a jump on some early Christmas gifts. A display table and the signup board will be outside of the Relief Society room until September 7th.

Pictures of our actual projects are posted below in case you don't get to see the projects in person and here's some information on the projects to get you inspired to join us!

Family Picture Plate - $2 each - Display your family pictures - current and those past - on this display plate. What a great conversation piece. Please bring a clean, empty soup can and 20-25 pictures, sized 2"x3" or larger and already trimmed, which have been printed out in black and white on a printer or copier on regular copy paper. (Do not use photo paper. Do not bring color pictures. The project does not work well with color.)
Time needed: 15-30 minutes to make the project, 15-30 minutes for it to dry.

Silver Flower Rings - Small: $4 each, Large: $5 each - Sister Georgette Munson will be teaching how to make these darling beaded flower rings. What a cute gift for a daughter, daughter-in-law, mom, aunt, friend!
Time needed: 15-30 minutes

Family Name Tile - $7 each - Includes your family name and the saying "Be true to who you are and the family name you bear."
Time needed: 10-15 minutes

President Monson Saying Tile - Available in 2 sizes - 12x12 is $7.00 and 6x6 is $3.00. Saying is: "Search inward, reach outward, look heavenward."
Time needed: 10-15 minutes

Family Home Evening Board - $16 - What a great way to keep track of who's in charge of what for Family Home Evening! Each board is vinyl lettered in your choice of 3 fonts. You can also choose from 5 different paint colors. Comes with 6 heart name tags. Additional hearts available for $0.50 each. Even the name tags are vinyl lettered! Sand the edges if you'd like to make it a little more rustic. Stain the knobs instead of painting them. It's up to you. Great family Christmas gifts! Please bring two clean empty soup cans to set your board on while painting and drying.
Time needed: 60 minutes. You can paint your board and hearts, leave them to dry, and work on other projects before coming back to finish the project.

Light Up Glass Block Nativity - $27* - Check out this beautiful light up nativity scene made with glass blocks! Light up your holiday nights remembering the true reason for the season. There will only be 24 sets of this project available so be sure to sign up quick! Sisters - I realize this project is somewhat pricey. However, I have done a lot of research on getting the best deals for the supplies for this project and this is the lowest price it can cost. The glass blocks alone are $15 and I am supplying the vinyl at my cost. I was just able to reduce it from $31 due to a great deal I found on the ribbon.
Time needed: 30-45 minutes

Etched Family Name 9x13 Dishes - $3 or $10 (newly reduced price!) - Ever take one of your favority clear glass dishes to a church function or into someone for dinner and you don't get it back? No need to worry from now on! Etch your name into your dish and it's there forever! If you'd like us to purchase a brand new 9x13 dish for you, the cost will be $10 (we just found a great price on 9x13 dishes!). Add a cake mix and some homemade knitted potholders and you're set for a Christmas gift! If you want to just bring your own clear dish, the cost will only be $3 per dish. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you bring your own dish, it SHOULD NOT be a Pyrex brand dish. Pyrex will NOT etch without leaving the etching cream to sit for at least 6 hours.
Time needed: 5 -10 minutes to do the project, 20 minutes to let it 'work'. If you bring a Pyrex dish, you will be taking it home with etching cream still on it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is the last day to sign up?
Sunday, September 7th.

How can I sign up if I didn't get to at church?
Email Sis Vinson at kuhdep@hotmail.com with your order.

How do I pay for my projects?
Please pay in cash or by check. Make checks payable to Kristin Vinson. You may give your payment directly to me or to a member of the Relief Society Presidency. I will also accept payment via PayPal using a check or instant checking account transfer...no credit cards though (I get charged a fee for accepting credit cards). If you choose to use PayPal to pay, please have the payment sent to kuhdep2@hotmail.com.

When are payments due?
No later than Sunday, September 7th.

Do I have to arrive right at 9 am?
No, you don't have to arrive then, but it would be nice if you could - especially if you sign up for a lot of projects. All of the projects will be available throughout the day, except possibly the rings. If you sign up for multiple projects, you may want to bring a friend to help you complete all of them.

Do I have to stay until 3 pm?
Not if you are finished with your projects and want to leave...although we'd love to have you continue to visit with us!

Do I need to bring anything?
Please check the list above for items you will need to bring for your projects. On the Sunday before Super Saturday, as a reminder, you will be given a list of the projects you have signed up for as well as a list of items you need to bring with you on Saturday.

Will there be lunch provided?
We are asking each sister to please bring their favorite soup or salad for a potluck lunch. The ward will provide the drinks and rolls. We will be eating at noon, so please have your item at the church by 11:30.

Will there be child care available?
No. Because this is on a Saturday, we hope that spouses or other child care options will be more readily available.

If I want to bring my own dish for the etched dish project, does it need to be a clear dish?
Yes. We will not be etching on non-clear dishes at this time. Also, please note, your dish CANNOT be a Pyrex brand dish. We have learned that the etching cream will NOT etch Pyrex brand dishes (unless we let it sit for 5-6 hours).

What if I have other questions?
Please call Sis. Vinson at 623 556 9956 or email her at kuhdep2@hotmail.com.

Hi there! Your blog is amazing! I am a friend of your cousin, Cindy, and she gave me your blog site to look at. I am the enrichment leader in her ward & am very interested in the nativity that you are making for your super saturday. Would you be willing to share information on how we could do this in our ward? My email is jamieneilson@cox.net. Thank you!
